From 15 September 2024 your iiNet/Westnet/TPG email accounts will not longer be free.
Your year of free subscription to “The Messaging Company” (TMC) will be over and you will have to pay $30 per year or more to keep using those accounts.
Or you can open a free Outlook.com account and save up to $95.40 per year.
FYI – It appears TPG/Vodacom sold their e-mail services to “The Messaging Company” (Atmail) in Brisbane, who are now owned by Norway’s Inbox.com
Why move to Outlook.com?
- Owned by Microsoft Corp, you get the same security and infrastructure as the worlds top 500 companies
- The FREE Outlook.com account provides 15GB of mail storage, equivalent to the “Regular” Messaging Company account which costs $59.40 per month
- If you already have a Microsoft Office account (365 Personal or 365 Family) as most people do (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) then you already have a 50GB Mail allowance, more than most of us will ever need
- All Microsoft account holders can get to speak to a real Microsoft Technician in person if required. Not possible for Google accounts
How to create a FREE Outlook.com email address
Once created and tested, start telling everyone about your new address …
Now go into your iiNet (The Messaging Company) webmail and setup auto-forwarding to the new account … see here
If you’ve made the decision to pay The Messaging Company (TMC) and keep your iiNet/Westnet email active, you should be aware of some changes that you may need to make for the emails to remain active on iPhone/iPad/Android SmartPhones and Outlook for Windows or Outlook for Mac
