Windows 11 is the only supported (patched and updated) version/edition of Microsoft Windows.
Windows 10 is becoming increasingly insecure and problems cannot be fixed. But how do you know what version/edition of Windows you are currently running?
Quickest of way of determining your Windows version/edition
Take a look at this image and see where the Windows icon appears on your task bar

How to determine Windows Edition and Version
Click on the Windows icon > Settings > System > About
Under “Windows Specification” you will see the “Edition” (a version of Windows, 10 or 11) and under “Version” something like “25H2”, you should also see the “Installed on” date
The very last version of “Windows 10” was “22H2” and support for it ended on 14 October 2025
If you cannot upgrade to Windows 11 for any reason, here are some tips for temporary measures to keep your Windows 10 device as secure as possible.
As well as Microsoft Windows, you may also need to upgrade your version of Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Office is NOT included with Windows 11.
