The most widely used Internet services are offered by the Federal Government owned NBN company. But there are also a few private options that do no rely on NBN infrastructure.

NBN

The general public cannot buy Internet services directly from NBN, only the Telecommunications companies can do that, and there are hundreds to choose from (see a list here) and although NBN own all the cables and wires that connect our houses and offices, they can mostly only be contacted by going through your ISP (Internet Service Provider) whether that be Telstra.
